GOURMET SHOPPE   About the Shop A Fine Affair Gourmet Shoppe and Gift Boutique has recently opened in the soon to be revitalized Walnut Beach neighborhood of Milford, CT. A Fine Affair offers gourmet food items from around the world including Aged Balsamic Vinegars, Imported Olive Oils, Gourmet Pasta's, Spices, Handmade Candies and more. The store carries unique gift items such as handcrafted Bennington Pottery, Lang Candles created from a pool of some of the world's most talented artists, and Julia Junkin's hand-painted ceramics, along with local artisan's works such as Dianne Platt's metal sculpture and Robin Weiss's hand-crafted authentic cigar box purses. The store creates unique specialty baskets for any occasion, and features monthly events where patrons can meet the artist, come for a tasting or have an opportunity to get a featured book signed by the author. "Art speaks to all languages and can be enjoyed by everyone" says shop owner Joanne Watkins. "Incorporating artwork into our daily life adds beauty, humor, inspiration and enthusiasm". A Fine Affair Gourmet Shoppe & Gift Boutique is an offshoot of A Fine Affair Catering, an offsite catering company specializing in creating social and business events that are both unique and visually enchanting. A Fine Affair is helmed by Joanne Watkins, whose years in the entertainment industry as a Feature Film Producer and International Distributor and Scott Wiseman, named "One of the Top Fifty Chefs in America" (Hallmark Corporation) combine their talent and experience to bring a most unique vision to both catering and the retail markets.
